John P. Wise

I have been an attorney with Montana & Welch since 2016.  I am currently focused solely in the field of municipal law and has presented municipalities throughout Northern Illinois.  I have substantial experience representing municipalities and employees in federal and state litigation in matter involving personal injury, civil rights, and collection, and has successfully argued before the Third District Appellate Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  I have also practiced in the areas of liquor license regulation, employment law, and collective bargaining.  Additionally, my diverse portfolio includes serving as an Administrative Hearing Officer.  I also served 15 years as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Joliet and was an Assistant City Attorney for both Ottawa and Marseilles.  I further served as a Special Assistant State’s Attorney for LaSalle County in the civil division.
